AMC#1 | Countertop templates

So today was template day. After a long delay, our cabinets have finally been installed last week and we were able to reschedule the countertop template. It’s actually pretty cool the way the make templates these days. Remember the guy coming out and glung a bunch of lightweight wood together to make the template? Well – those days are over. What you see above is the new way of creating templates. Ruben – my sales guy from Alpha Granite & Marble takes a bunch of pics of this setup with the markers, loads them up on his computer and stitches them all together for the template. The system is called PhotoTop and produces highly accurate templates. The actual time it takes to create the template is also a lot less than the traditional method. I can’t wait to see how accurate this template is going to be.

Btw — the counter tops are going to be 3cm honed slate for the vanity tops and solid surface white Corian for the laundry room tops. All office cabinet tops are finished walnut.
